The Science of Plastic: PET Bottle Blow Molding Machine
Apr 07, 2024
What is PET bottle blow molding machine?
A bottle blow molding machine is a type of manufacturing equipment that is used to produce plastic bottles through the process of blow molding. The machine takes in raw materials such as plastic resin or pellets and uses heat and pressure to melt and mold the plastic into a bottle shape. The bottle is then inflated with compressed air until it reaches its desired size and shape, and then cooled to harden it.
It can be divided into three main types:
Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM)
Injection Blow Systems (IBS)
Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM)
The application of PET blow molding machines:
Bottle blow molding machines are commonly used in the production of various types of plastic bottles used for packaging in various industries such as food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and more.
How does the blow molding machine works?
1.Plastic pellets are fed into the machine via a hopper or screw depending on the machine.
2.Plastic melts and then gets shaped into a parison, which looks like a tube with a hole at one end.
3.Clamped in place inside the mold.
4.Compressed air inflates the parison.
5.The heated plastic balloons to fill the space of the mold.
6.After the plastic cools, the machine opens the mold and removes the part, sending it on to any applicable finishing, if any.
Advantages of PET bottle blow molding machines:
High productivity: It can produce large quantities of bottles in a short period of time, making them ideal for mass production.
Low labor costs: Due to the high degree of automation in PET bottle blow molding machines, there is minimal need for manual labor during production, reducing labor costs significantly.
Versatile: By changing the molds, one machine can make PET bottles in different shapes and sizes.
Reliable: The machine is durable and with proper maintenance, therefore can be used for tens years.
Environmental friendly: The production of PET bottles using blow molding machines results in reduced carbon emissions compared to other production methods, making them a more environmentally-friendly option.
