I. Preparations before operation
1. Check the condition of the equipment
- First, check the appearance of the blow molding machine to see if the machine has obvious damage, deformation or loose parts. For example, check whether the bottle blank conveying track of the blow molding machine is smooth and whether there is any foreign matter blocking it.
- Check the sealing of each connection part of the blow molding machine, especially the connection ports such as the air pipe and hydraulic pipe, to ensure that there is no leakage, because leakage may affect the normal operation of the blow molding machine and cause insufficient air pressure or hydraulic pressure.
2. Cleaning work
- Before operation, the blow molding machine needs to be cleaned to remove dust and debris that may exist on the surface and inside of the machine. For example, if there are debris inside the mold of the blow molding machine, it may affect the molding quality of the bottle.
- Clean the heating parts of the blow molding machine to ensure that the heat can be evenly transferred. If the heating parts are covered with dirt, it may cause uneven local temperature, uneven heating of the bottle blank, and affect the quality of the bottle.
3. Raw material preparation
- Prepare bottle blank raw materials suitable for the blow molding machine. Ensure that the quality of the preform meets the requirements, including its dimensional accuracy, material uniformity, etc. For example, if the wall thickness of the preform is uneven, it is easy to break or have an irregular shape during the blowing process.
- Place the preform in the designated loading position, and ensure that the supply of the preform is continuous and stable to avoid a shortage of preforms during the blowing process.
2. Basic operation steps of the blow molding machine
1. Start the machine
- Turn on the power of the blow molding machine and start the machine according to the prompts on the operation panel of the equipment. During the startup process, pay close attention to the startup status of the equipment to check for abnormal sounds or alarm prompts. For example, if you hear abnormal noise from the motor, it may mean that the motor is faulty or overloaded.
- Start the heating system of the blow molding machine and set the appropriate heating temperature and heating time according to the material of the preform and the specification requirements of the bottle. Generally speaking, different plastic materials require different heating temperature ranges. For example, the heating temperature of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) preforms is usually between 160-220℃.
2. Preform conveying and heating
- Start the preform conveying device and convey the preform to the heating area. During the conveying process, ensure that the preform can enter the heating station accurately and the spacing between the preforms should be appropriate to avoid collision or accumulation of the preforms.
- The preforms are heated in the heating area according to the set time and temperature. During the heating process, pay attention to the heating of the preforms to ensure that the preforms are heated evenly. You can preliminarily judge whether the heating is uniform by observing the color change of the preforms. If the color of the preform surface is uneven, you may need to adjust the parameters of the heating system.
3. Blowing molding
- When the preform is heated to the appropriate temperature, transfer the heated preform to the blowing station.
- In the blowing station, high-pressure gas (usually compressed air) is injected into the preform to expand and mold according to the shape of the mold. The appropriate blowing pressure should be set according to the specifications and requirements of the bottle. Too high pressure may cause the bottle to rupture, and too low pressure may cause the bottle to be incompletely molded.
4. Bottle removal and subsequent processing
- After the bottle is blown, the formed bottle is removed from the mold. The bottle can be pushed out of the mold by a mechanical device (such as an ejector mechanism).
- Perform quality inspection on the removed bottles and remove bottles with defects (such as deformation, rupture, uneven wall thickness, etc.). Qualified bottles can be packaged, labeled, and processed in the future.
III. Precautions in operation
1. Safety precautions
- When operating the bottle blowing machine, the operator must wear relevant safety protection equipment, such as protective glasses and gloves. Because during the bottle blowing process, the preform may rupture or high-pressure gas may leak, which may cause harm to the operator.
- It is strictly forbidden to perform illegal operations during the operation of the machine, such as reaching into the operating mold area or touching the heated parts.
2. Equipment operation monitoring
- During the operation of the bottle blowing machine, the various operating parameters of the equipment, such as temperature, pressure, speed, etc., must be continuously monitored. If abnormal fluctuations in the parameters are found, the machine must be stopped in time for inspection and adjustment. For example, if the heating temperature suddenly rises or falls, it may affect the quality of the bottle. You need to find the cause, which may be a heating element failure or a temperature sensor failure.
- Pay attention to the operating status of the equipment, including the vibration and noise of the machine. If the machine vibrates abnormally, it may mean that a part of the machine is unbalanced or loose.
IV. Maintenance and care after operation
1. Shutdown operation
- After completing the bottle blowing production task, shut down the bottle blowing machine in the correct order. First, turn off the heating system of the bottle blowing machine, then stop the preform conveying and bottle blowing operation, and finally turn off the power.
- After shutting down, wait for the various parts of the bottle blowing machine to cool to a safe temperature before performing subsequent maintenance work.
2. Cleaning and inspection
- Clean the bottle blowing machine thoroughly, and remove dust, plastic debris and other debris on the surface and inside of the machine. In particular, thoroughly clean the inside of the mold to prevent the residual plastic from affecting the molding quality of the bottle when the machine is turned on next time.
- Check the key components of the bottle blowing machine, such as checking whether the mold is worn and whether the heating element is normal. If the mold is found to be severely worn, it needs to be replaced or repaired in time to ensure the molding accuracy of the bottle.
3. Equipment storage
- If the bottle blowing machine needs to be stopped for a long time, it should be stored in a dry and ventilated environment to prevent the machine from getting damp and rusting. You can use a dust cover to cover the machine to prevent dust from entering the machine.
